skill in handling of materials, knowledge of gemstones, jewellery making processes and a keen sense of fine

line and proportion. This is a career oriented programme for all those who wish to understand the subject of

jewellery and jewellery design. Students will learn about jewellery illustration, rendering of gemstones and

Elements of Jewellery Design

A basic introduction to jewellery design and jewellery making. Students learn techniques of jewellery making as they create their own jewellery pieces. Course is mainly of practical classes on rendering of jewellery, diamonds, coloured gemstones, types of metals and other material used in jewellery. Included are practical sessions on the jewellery making processes and techniques.

Jewellery Design Foundation

An introductory training programme for students who wish to understand the subject of jewellery and jewellery design. Course is mainly of practical classes on rendering of jewellery, diamonds, coloured gemstones, types of metals and other material used in jewellery. Included is an overview of jewellery making processes and techniques.

Computer Aided Jewellery Design – JewelCAD Version 5

JewelCAD software is a non-engineering approach for three dimensional illustration of jewellery and other material. As compared to manual jewellery design, computer based designs minimize errors in rendering and in the interpretation of shapes and forms of an object. Linked to manufacturing via Rapid Prototyping, digital jewellery designs are converted into a 3D master model, resulting in savings of time and resources. This module is for jewellery designers who are employed in the industry and for those who have a basic knowledge of jewellery design
Jewellery Making - Bench-Work Techniques
Techniques and technology create innovative jewellery forms and design. This course includes a practical study of the bench-work techniques that create jewellery, its textures, form and finishes. Students will gain hands-on experience with the tools, materials, components and techniques used in jewellery; the relationship between jewellery design and the processes of fabrication which go into converting paper designs into the actual piece.
